Alicia Keys rang in the holiday season with her freshly unwrapped album ‘Santa Baby‘ and is continuing the fun by pouring out more from the LP.
The festive set, which serves as the 15-time GRAMMY winner’s first festive project, also dubs as the diva’s first body of work since setting sail as an independent artist.
Armed with a renewed freedom, Keys introduced the masses to her fusion of Christmas covers and new jams by way of the album’s lead single ‘December Back 2 June.’
Now, she’s premiered the visual for the project’s title track.

She is tailoring her music for a whole different audience now. I didn’t know that until I went to her Alicia+Keys concert and saw that the audience was more than 80% white people in their 40s and older. It was a shock to me, because the last time I had seen her was the As I Am tour and the audience was mostly black. I’ve never seen a fan base shift so much in 15 years. I couldn’t get into the new music at the concert, but I looked around and mostly everyone seemed to be enjoying it. I guess that’s the most important thing.
Why does it matter if her fans are white and Black? Fans are fans. We don’t need these kinds of racist BS in here. 💅🏾
Every fan base has its demographics and it is a major part of the music business. Every business there is depends on demographic data. Knowing your customer and how to attract them and keep them is business 101. I’m simply saying that Alicia’s sound obviously appeals more to a different audience now. That’s not racism; it’s an observation — one that you can’t argue about if you didn’t even go to the show or buy any of the last few albums.
