It looks like Xscape star LaTocha Scott is looking for a little ‘Understanding’ as the fall-out from the group’s appearance at the Soul Train Awards taping in Las Vegas.
The 2022 ceremony saw the quad honored with the Lady of Soul honor.
And while that (along with their showstopping performance) was the anticipated talking point, drama has drenched the showing after LaTocha showed up on the carpet rocking an entirely different dress and color scheme to her bandmates – Kandi Burruss, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle, and her sister Tamika Scott.
In the days since, the members have traded jabs online and debated the particulars – with LaTocha stressing that the move was not intentional and rather miscommunication between her stylist and the group’s.
And now, she’s speaking up and out the more with a more detailed address.

In an open letter, she wrote:
“First off, I’d like to apologize to all of the fans. It’s so unfortunate that I have to tell my truth this way. However, in this new space, I won’t be silenced by who has the bigger following. If I don’t say anything I’m dragged, and if I do say something I’m dragged. So here it goes…”
She went on to bemoan her “sisters” not “coming to my defense” over what she says was an understandable miscommunication between external professionals.
Elsewhere, LaTocha spotlights Xscape’s new tour promoter as a source of friction after they “threatened my husband’s life.” She also unpacked her specific grievance with her sister Tamika – who she says slammed their mother.

Working as a group can be very difficult. You’re working with individuals who have different perspectives, aesthetics.
So any group who have remained together, I have much respect for them. It’s NOT easy at all but it shows their willingness to compromise and make sacrifices for each other.
And also their FANS.
I truly think it is sad and unnecessary for sisters to behave in such a manner one towards another. Tameka should be upset from what I saw displayed on the show. What she said appeared to be correct about their mom taking Latocha’s side and saying Tameka is Jealous. I personally do not understand how a parent can favor one child over the other. If one can be corrected for being wrong then so should the other. Latocha’s please look deep within yourself (heart) to examine where the problem truly lies. You cannot fix anyone else until you first fix yourself.
