Cher fans all over the globe are sending condolences to the EGO (EMMY, GRAMMY, and OSCAR) winner after the announcement her mother Georgia Holt passed away.
Taking to Twitter early Sunday morning, the Pop icon simply tweeted, “Mom is gone.” At writing, no additional details (i.e. date, cause, or location of death) have been revealed.
Georgia, a Country singer, model, and actress herself, celebrated her 96th birthday in June.
Over the years, the two made headlines for their closeness – a bond even brought to the small screen courtesy of Lifetime’s ‘Dear Mom, Love Cher.’ The hour-long documentary (executive produced by Cher), detailed their inspiring mother-daughter relationship and put a spotlight like never before on Holt’s career as a singer and model.
