Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Gunna, along with Thug and 26 others were arrested back in May in a sweeping gang indictment that asserted that the YSL collective is in actuality a violent criminal street gang that has committed multiple murders, shootings, and carjackings over the period of a decade.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)In a practice that ignited ample debate, prosecutors drew on the artists’ lyrics as a means of claiming that their alleged gang activity was being promoted in their music and covertly on social media too.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Following the arrests, many attempts by Gunna’s legal team were made to secure his release. All of which were to no avail.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)That changed moments ago, though, when the performer took what is referred to as an Alford plea – a move that permits a defendant to make a formal admission of guilt while still maintaining their innocence.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Per a statement from Gunna, he’s proceeding as such “to end my personal ordeal.”
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)The pact sees the 29-year-old sentenced to five years with one served in prison; the one-year sentence has been revised to time served, with the four remaining years now suspended. Instead, Gunna will be subject to special conditions and serve 500 hours of community service.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)As of writing, his attorneys say his release will take place within a matter of hours.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Given the high-profile nature of the case, as well as the sheer number of other parties accused, onlookers have questioned whether his release was in exchange for testimony about others such as Young Thug.
Video In-Article Ad (Desktop)Gunna says no. Pretty emphatically, at that. For, the rest of his statement read:

Black privilege at its finest. Don’t y’all say blacks always get the longest sentences? Yet we see this time and time again. Pffft.
Ewww. The bothered energy is 🤮
I’m unfamiliar with the facts and/or circumstances of the case and will not opine on this young man’s sentence. Hopefully he can make better choices going forward.
KTSE when they get sent to the chair instead of calling racism.
Suuuuurrrrreeeeee lol 😝
I would’ve been home because I would’ve told on EVERYBODY!
. . .They’re going to kill him‼️ The simple fact he’s been released in the time an informant would be in protection and he insists that he didn’t snitch, because he KNOWS that’s the only reasonable he’d be out.
I think his pleading guilty gave the feds what they needed in the complaint of the label is a gang . He didn’t have to testify but pleading was just as bad. Either way, I see them murdering him soon.
The way 6-9 still running round here. Hmph…
What’s that i smell snitch?
