Taking to press, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) announced that Cudi’s song ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ has now been certified Diamond in the United States for the sales equivalent of 10,000,000 total units sold.
As a result of this achievement, Cudi officially earns his first-ever Diamond single. Overall, it becomes the 99th song to be certified Diamond.
The song appeared on his debut studio album, ‘Man on the Moon: The End of Day,’ which also saw some additional certifications. The album has now been upgraded to 4x Platinum status as well.
Both ‘Man on the Moon’ and ‘Pursuit of Happiness’ performed moderately on their respective charts. ‘Man’ peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 while ‘Pursuit’ peaked at #59 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Needless to say, a huge congratulations is in order.
