The Pop Stop: Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, & More Deliver This Week’s Hidden Gems

Published: Friday 6th Jan 2023 by Ryan

Readers of That Grape Juice know how passionate we are about music – whether that be past or present.

However, unlike our other segments – Retro Rewind, TGJ Replay, and From The Vault – The Pop Stop is the most in-depth look at Pop songs that may have flown under the radar over the last week that you should know, rather they be from music’s biggest stars or those on the rise.

This week, we want to highlight cuts from Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, NewJeans, and Moonbin and Sanha.

Join us inside…

Shania Twain – Giddy Up!

Shania Twain is gearing up to release her latest album, ‘Queen of Me,’ on February 3 and to promote the record, she has shared her latest single. Entitled ‘Giddy Up!’ the song is a joyous and effervescent celebration of our time on Earth. With a rollicking beat and cheerful horns, the song has all the makings of a true country-pop hit that recalls many of her classic tunes.

Dolly Parton – Bets On Us

Country music queen Dolly Parton has teamed with electronic group Cheat Codes for the song ‘Bets On Us.’ Melding the twang of acoustic guitars and pairing them with elements of EDM, Parton and Cheat Codes have created a song that proves even decades into her career, Parton is still breaking barriers.

NewJeans – Ditto

Having formed only months ago, rising K-Pop group NewJeans has already been making major waves in the music world. Now, they have released the dual single, ‘OMG.’ Featured in the two tracks is a song called ‘Ditto,’ which is a misty dance tune that is as ethereal as it is exciting. With the release of their dual single, NewJeans proves that if there is one K-Pop group that rises to superstardom this year, it will be them.

Moonbin and Sanha – Madness

Moonbin and Sanha of the K-Pop group ASTRO have teamed up for their EP ‘Incense’. The six-song project consists of an array of sounds and features their latest single, ‘Madness.’ Composed of a bouncing bass line and infectious grooves, Moonbin and Sanha show they are masters of their craft with this landmark single.
