Critics who wrote Latto off after the mega-success of her 2021 breakthrough single, ‘Big Energy,’ are in for a big disappointment thanks to her new song ‘Lottery.’
Featuring Canadian singer-songwriter LU KALA, the Dr. Luke-produced bop was released February 17 and is already well on its way to hitting a commercial jackpot for its lead performer.
See how inside.
Peruse of the refreshed Hot 100 shows ‘Lottery’ printed in a premiere position of #83 – coming as the week’s second-highest female debut (behind Lizzy McAlpine‘s ‘Ceilings‘).
Here are the numbers that powered Latto’s placement.
- Streaming ≈ 4.2 million U.S.-based streams
- Digital Downloads ≈ 1,200 sold
- Radio Airplay ≈ 7.2 million audience impressions
A milestone entry for both its performers, the song comes as the first time Lu Kala’s seen her name on the U.S. hitlist
For Latto, the tune’s arrival comes as her highest Hot 100 opening to date – besting 2022’s ‘Budget‘ (led by Megan Thee Stallion) as the previous titleholder.
Look below to see who joins the duo on this week’s TGJ chart recap, ‘Chart Check.’

For it to debut at number 83 y’all could’ve kept this post. Child please 👋🏼

It’s a wrap for Scratch Off FLOPPPPPPP
Big energy debuted on bubbling under then hit on billboard for 51 weeks longest charting female rap single on the billboard hot 100 stay mad 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Gurl it’s called payola 🤣🤣🤣
And with all that Scratch Off is still a flop. Album flop singles flop looks flop. One hit wonder at this point
Its a bop but I’m confused as to what LU KALA is actually doing on the track – is it her doing the chorus cos she aint doing the verse? In the video some of the time Latto mouthing the words and sometimes its her. And why Latto keep winking, she got something in her eye?
