Billboard reports that John’s ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour is officially the highest-grossing tour in history with over $817.9 million across 278 shows so far.
However, it does not end there, Billboard goes on to say that John has grossed a total of $1.863 billion and sold 19.9 million tickets over 1,573 reported shows. They go on to note that amount is “the highest career gross and attendance for a solo artist in Boxscore history.”
The highest-grossing tours belong to: Elton John, Ed Sheeran, U2, Guns N’ Roses, The Rolling Stones, Coldplay, Roger Waters, AC/DC, and Metallica.

In order to make that $820 million he did 278 shows. With the Formation tour, Beyonce did 49 shows (5.7 times less shows than Elton) and yet made $260 million. A third of his gross with nearly 6 times less shows 🤣

Y’all forgot to also mention how these rockstars tour for YEARS and do hundreds of shows. That’s how they earn massive grosses.
Beyonce could EASILY surpass them if she did 150+ shows and toured for years at a time.
When’s the last time Beyonce did 100 shows? Mrs. Carter World Tour? She been off that.
