Afrobeats has been dominating on a global scale and now it’s set to make its mark on basketball’s biggest night. Because it’s been announced that a trio of titans from the genre have been tapped to headline the NBA All-Star Game 2023.

Moments ago, the NBA revealed that Burna Boy, Tems, and Rema will top-bill the coveted slot in a first-of-its-kind Afrobeats-flavored Halftime Show – airing Sunday, February 19 on TNT.

Previous headliners include Destiny’s Child and Christina Aguilera.

The exciting embrace of Afrobeats at the big game comes at an apt time for each artist.

GRAMMY winner Burna Boy is reveling in the success of his latest global smash ‘Last Last,’ Tems is fresh from a GRAMMY win herself this year for ‘Wait For U’ – her chart-topping collaboration with Future and Drake, while Rema reigned at #1 on the Billboard Global Chart with Selena Gomez collaboration ‘Calm Down.’ 

The 72nd NBA All-Star Game airs at 8.30 pm ET on TNT live from the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.
