After WWE Legend Goldberg Slammed Rihanna’s Super Bowl Show, Shaq Told Her Critics to “Shut the F-ck Up”

Published: Saturday 18th Feb 2023 by Rashad

NFL star-turned-wrestling legend Bill Goldberg, known mononymously as “Goldberg,” may have collected his fair share of championship titles over the last 30 years for spearing some of the sports entertainment genre’s biggest names to the WCW and WWE mats, but now he’s rocking headlines for slamming Rihanna‘s epic Super Bowl halftime show.

Days after Rih cranked out her greatest hits to rock the State Farm Stadium at Super Bowl LVII (February 12), Goldberg took to his ‘CarCast‘ podcast to share his feelings about the showing.

“I thought Rihanna was frickin’ horrible,” he said. “I was disgusted by it. That’s all. Let’s just say that. I thought it was horrible.”

His stinging comment echoes the headline-grabbing words of former U.S. president Donald Trump and radio shock jock Howard Stern – both of whom gave Rih’s 13-minute set two thumbs down.

Tired of the criticism, another sports legend – Shaquille O’Neal – followed Goldberg’s commentary by defending Rih from the “haters.”

“All you people disrespecting my Rihanna, shut your face. Shut it up,” he said on ‘The Big Podcast’ (as seen in the video above). “I was there – it was beautiful. She did a great job. I didn’t know she was pregnant until she bust out, but leave this lady alone…”

That’s not all he said.

“We living in a world where people got too much freedom. Keep your f–king thoughts to yourself,” the NBA icon shared. “She did a wonderful job, she’s pregnant, she blessed it, she did her thing, she didn’t fall. Just leave it there. All you superstars that’s disrespectful and causing beef, shut your face. Shut it up.”

O’Neal’s praise echoes that of Nicki Minaj, SZA, and a host of other celebrities who couldn’t say enough good about the Bajan diva’s hit-filled halftime show.

At writing, Rihanna hasn’t publicly responded to the negative comments.

What TF does he mean by too much freedom? Follow up on this statement Shaq because it’s given dictator.

All these GROWN MEN obsessing over a Rihanna’s Halftime show is very effeminate.

I guess the boys this year were more anticipated for Rihanna than the actual game, lol

    • Diabetes UNBOTHERED February 18, 2023

A lot of ppl (like myself) are simply FANS OF TGE HALFTIME SHOW (Regardless of who’s performing) and will watch Annually.

This year’s set was OKay, it gave us something DIFFERENT unlike the weekend which was the worse ive seen in recent years.

Also this was a COMEBACK performance so why are you being so GENDER PETTY. 🤔 everyone likes a good COMEBACK.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

Being a FAN of the Halftime show isn’t my issue.

These guys seem more upset over Rihanna’s performance than the actual Football game itself.

Maybe some of them watched the game just to see Rihanna perform. 🤷

    • Bev Hill February 18, 2023

The halftime show is just as major (if not more) than the super bowl itself. There were high expectations for Rihanna and she didn’t deliver per usual. Men are allowed to voice their opinions about it. That doesn’t mean they’re obsessed….

Rihanna’s lazy ass performance deserves to be criticized.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

Yes they’re allowed to voice their opinion and I’m allowed to point out their cattiness over a Halftime Show.

      • Bev Hill February 18, 2023

Cattiness????????? Them saying her performance sucked is catty??? 🤣

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

Yes it’s catty for men to be pressed over a Halftime by a female POP star and gossiping all over social media about it.

That’s something we expect from Wendy darling….NOT a bunch of roided up men with shrunken testicles.

He told no lies. She was “frickin’ horrible.” She was a sloppy mess and showed no signs of giving a damn. It’s disrespectful to the Super Bowl, the players, the audience, the viewers at home, and most of all THE FANS – the very people who PUT HER WHERE SHE IS or she’d still be the broke daughter of a crackhead father in the Caribbean. Show some f****** respect to the people who line your pockets, love, worship, adore and root for you every step of the way and BE HUMBLED.

    • Bev Hill February 18, 2023

The navy stans will just brag about her allegedly being a billionaire. Im glad I can brag on my faves talent. 😊

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

That’s all they CAN brag on.

    • True Tea February 18, 2023

It’s NOT Rihanna’s fault ur FAVs can’t sell anything else outside of music.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

It’s IS Rihanna’s fault that she has to.

      • Bev Hill February 18, 2023

It’s not our favs fault that Rihanna has no talent other than putting on lipstick and scamming fans out of their coins for $5 pantie and bra sets.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

And while Rihanna is scamming, a lot of y’all of slanging d*ck and puss for coins.

    • True Tea February 18, 2023

No what Rihanna doesn’t have to do is work extra hard to eat. Rihanna is a Billionaire in her 30’s. That’s a major accomplishment ur FAVs may never accomplish, even with all their alleged talents.

      • Bev Hill February 18, 2023

Here we go RiHaNnA iS a BiLLiOnAiRe, idc point out her talent!

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

Rihanna has more talent than most ppl since she’s the exception NOT the rule.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

Taylor is almost a billionaire in her 30s from music ALONE. Rihanna being a billionaire from scamming and using child labor is hardly anything to brag about, nevermind an accomplishment.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

        Everybody knows…Almost doesn’t count.🎵💃

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

She will be after this tour. Then you won’t be so smug. And she will have gotten there through ACTUAL hard work.

Oh, no one cares about Rihanna using child s**** labor camps because she’s black, I forget. Just the same as when you were all in uproar about children in cages when Trump was president, even though he put a stop to it, but didn’t say a thing when it was under the Obama administration, and now that it has been put back into place under the Biden/Harris administration. Funny that, isn’t it?

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

        Selective outrage and selective appraisal.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

And that is exactly why your word or opinion holds absolutely no weight. Because you’re inconsistent.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

The Super Bowl was a perfect representation of Rihanna’s entire career and business ventures; everyone putting in the work but her.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

If Rihanna is using child labor, she definitely isn’t the only one dear and I guaranteed you’re supporting a Company who uses child labor. Most of you aren’t doing background checks on the places you spend ur money.

So don’t be a hypocrite like all you hos who enjoy seeing Chrisean (A Black Woman) getting body slammed for ENTERTAINMENT.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

Now here she’s goes deflecting and going off-topic again…

She uses child slàvè labor camps to get to that billionaire status you speak of, and scamming customers, or she wouldn’t be there. Deal with it.

And who the f*** is Chrisean?

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

See b****, your “tactics” are way too predictable…

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

I bet you’re one of those höes who used to lay in her bed and fantasize about Jodeci while listening to their music in the 90s…

        Yeah, b****, I got your number 👀

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

The SELECTIVE OUTRAGE is you coming for Rihanna about alleged child labor while completely ignoring or downplaying other Companies who may be involved themselves. If children abused by other companies doesn’t bother you…then why are you really mad?

The only time you bring up child labor is when ur disusing Rihanna’s business ventures.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

Because Rihanna and her “billionaire status” is the topic at hand, dear.

      • Shayla Queen™ 👑 February 18, 2023

I will not be reading any further replies as I SAID WHAT I SAID and what I said is FACT. I’m right and you’re wrong.

        The Queen has spoken.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

If you truly cared about child slàvè labor, you would have done ur homework and found out it’s more widespread. So that let’s me know you don’t really care. And you’re nothing but a f*ckin’ HYPOCRITE with more fake outrage.

      • True Tea February 18, 2023

Of course you’re NOT reading any further because you don’t really GAF about abused children. You only bring them up when ur coming for Rihanna.

A B*tch that cares does her homework. You have NOTHING to show for anything you have stated thus far. In court…you would be DISMISSED!

  3. eric February 18, 2023

I don’t know if the amount of criticism is typical or if every negative comment is making the news cause it’s Rihanna. They don’t have to be harsh about it, but Rihanna truly didn’t seem to care a whole lot on stage. If you look at the rehearsal footage on TikTok, Rihanna’s choreographer stands in for her and does a MUCH better job performing.

  4. Jeff February 18, 2023

I watched the performance on YouTube to see what the fuss was about and I totally get it. Her charisma and energy were lacking. The dancers and production carried her set. Even the ASL interpreter gave more. I feel like she got pregnant on purpose because she wanted her belly to be the moment. Also it gave her a cop out for the lazy showing. Although plenty of pregnant singers have performed and have much more than she did. All in all, Rihanna did what she always does on stage….the bare minimum. That’s my 2 cents on it.

    • Sean February 19, 2023

I agree with everything said here…I just couldn’t see her killing it, never have. She has some bops and a pretty decent catalogue. But that’s it

  5. Sherm February 18, 2023

Rihanna is the textbook definition of a manufactured popstar. Nothing about her is organic. She’s a blank canvas and everyone else does the work for her. The girl can’t sing, dance, perform, write, produce or anything for god sakes. She’s the laziest popstar I can think of.

  6. Kevon February 19, 2023

Maybe he should stfu case it was the most lazy super bowl ever .. just because she black that’s why they defending her lazy ass show ..she know she’s pregnant stf home

  7. Travyj37 February 19, 2023

I agree with Goldberg, the Halftime Show was garbage.🗑 She should’ve had her baby 👶 and performed in 2024. This was just a baby announcement. Epic fail RiRi.👎

  8. Woody February 19, 2023

Am I missing something …. where is the lie??
