Music legend Gladys Knight is being honored with a coveted award few achieve in this lifetime.

The news that Knight would be receiving the National Medal of Arts was announced via a press release.
“The National Medal of Arts recipients have helped to define and enrich our nation’s cultural legacy through their life long passionate commitment,” said National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Chair Maria Rosario Jackson.
“We are a better nation because of their contributions. Their work helps us see the world in different ways. It inspires us to reach our full potential and recognize our common humanity. I join the President in congratulating and thanking them,” it continued.
Alongside Knight, Bruce Springsteen and Jose Feliciano will also be getting a medal.
President Joe Biden will hand out the awards and his wife Jill Biden is also said to attend the ceremony, which can be live-streamed on www.whitehouse.gov/live on March 21.
