Having lent her judging talents to ‘The Voice,’ ‘X Factor,’ and her own reality competition series, ‘Chasing Destiny,’ over the years, superstar singer-actress Kelly Rowland is an expert at spotting and developing up-and-coming talent.
That’s why we’re sure it was a no-brainer for her to be among the judges who’ll be grooming a new generation of stars via the unconventional forthcoming Audible singing contest ‘Breakthrough.’
Details inside.
Audible, renown for its audiobook, spoken word, and podcast services, is breaking into the music contest realm by combining audio storytelling with vocal showdowns via their new venture, ‘Breakthrough.’
Coined the world’s “first audio-only singing competition series,” the nine-episode show – hosted by EMMY-nominated actor Daveed Diggs – will be launched exclusively as a podcast.
Rowland, alongside fellow GRAMMY winner Sara Bareilles, have signed on as the series’ inaugural judges and will help mentor contestants through artistic development and live performances. Uniquely, the physical appearance of the performers is concealed for the duration of the show (even to the judges) as it is an audio-only contest.
“I am so happy to be a part of this series that highlights and gives a voice to emerging artists. Audible is an ideal space for this and Breakthrough is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to up-and-coming musicians. I’m rooting for them all,” the Destiny’s Child alum shared in an official statement.

Yeah because she won’t have to sing live
And you are a broke nobody who cannot and will not ever perform in anyway to make a coin
