Lady Gaga & Rihanna Rocket Into iTunes Top 10 After Their Stunning Performances at 2023 OSCARs

Published: Sunday 12th Mar 2023 by Rashad

Lady Gaga and Rihanna may have gone home empty-handed from the 95th annual Academy Awards Sunday night (March 12), but the Pop divas are definitely winning on real-time sales charts.

Details inside.

Viewers at home were apparently so impressed by Rih and Gaga’s performances at the 2023 OSCARS that they rushed to purchase the performed tunes before the ceremony’s credits even rolled.

The two most talked about performers of the night, Gaga – a former Best Original Song OSCAR winner – performed her nominated hit Hold My Hand (from the ‘Top Gun’ soundtrack) before Rihanna brought the house down with the first live televised rendition of her smash ‘Lift Me Up’ (from the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ soundtrack).

Their respective showings not only earned thunderous ovations at the OSCARs, but on social media and real-time iTunes sales tallies as well.

Peruse of the latter shows Gaga at the #4 spot while Rih sits pretty at #7 – both above some of the day’s current top hits like those from  Shakira, Taylor Swift, Kane Brown, Coi Leray, and more.

Real-Time iTunes Sales Chart

With ‘Lift’ placed at #65 and ‘Hold’ absent from the most recent Hot 100 print, the uptick in sales – when coupled with increased streaming activity as a result of the OSCARs showings – will likely spell for major boosts for both hits on next week’s edition of the hitlist.
