With the finale of ‘SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B’ set to air this Sunday, the ladies of SWV stopped by the Sherri show for a fun-filled chat.
Ever candid, Coko, LeLee, and Taj did not hold back when quizzed on the drama that has played out between them and ‘Understanding’ singers Xscape on the hit Bravo series.
Waxing honest about the spar that has seen the groups debating whether to make their joint concet co-headlined or top-billed by Xscape, the sisters with voices waxed frank with their disapproval of how their peers treated them.
Speaking with host Sherri Shepherd, they said, “there’s been too much disrespect.”

Sherri: Are you still cool with the ladies from Xscape?
Leelee: We’re ok [audience laughs]. We’re ok, it’s still fresh. Everything is still fresh.
Sherri: Did any of you regret doing the reality show?
Taj: A little. I do have a little regret. I knew going in, it was going to be a little stressful. I wanted it to be fun. I wanted us to go back to the 90s and relive our youth and have so much fun. It wasn’t anything that I thought it would be. So I kind of regret that part. I feel like now we’ll probably never be able to have that again. I was just a little disappointed.
Coko: Too much was said. Too much disrespect. It’s just been really crazy. And I honestly was not expecting it like that at all.
Lelee: They were hoping that getting all of us together, it would have been some real women’s empowerment thing. And it would have been so huge if we just got together you know … it can’t always be about one person. Somebody has to say “come on y’all we can do this together.” You get an idea, you get an idea, let’s do whatever it takes. You can’t ever get to that point if one person is pulling one person down. It would never work.
Sherri: Will there be a tour?
Lelee: Me personally, I always see the bigger picture.
Taj: You never know. If things can be worked out. We are NOT going to be anyone’s sidekick. And we’re NOT going to allow you to talk to us … it has to be fair for everybody.
Coko: If it’s fair, we’ll be there in our overalls and our flats.
Lelee: If anything, I think it would be really good for our fans!
Sherri: Would you go on tour without them?
All: We are! [in unison]
Coko: We will be on tour this summer. We just haven’t announced with who. But we will be out this summer!

Lie again. Monica and Tamar were opening acts and NeNe was supposed to host until her scandal. The opening acts changed depending on the city. Yet and still it was their tour. SWV opened for some in their hoodies and combat boots. 😭 Tour sold out and Xscape made millions. Recheck your receipts darling.
yawn. all this drama for what? music-wise, they haven’t released new hits in recent times and they’re mostly banking on 90s nostalgia. co-headline the tour and get that money. jeez.
When was xscape’s last hit?
Xscape didn’t even disrespect them. They’re dragging it😭😭😭 butttt I do see SWV has stepped their style and production game up. The hoodies, boots and backyard BBQ performances just weren’t cutting it anymore. At least Xscape tries to give a production.
Tries and fails. Xscape can’t even get their core members or their harmonies together to get through one show. Don’t get me started on their ratchet hood ghetto trash look either.
Xscape is performing as a trio as I type🤣🤣
They can do that you know. With any lineup. Coko catches a cold or quits, SWV is done done.

No one from Xscape disrespected SWV or their legacy. All they discussed was business and facts, but the EGOS from SWV, (mostly Coko like usual), got them in their feelings. Even now, Xscape is STILL saying nothing but positive things about SWV. The Sisters are doing too much.
The only fact here is that SWV’s booking fee is cheaper than Xscape’s in 2023. And why is that you say? DEMAND. Promoters will pay if you can put asses in seats. Kandi was coming from a business perspective. That’s all. Her and the Xscape girls have said nothing but positive things about SWV but SWV has chips on their shoulders. I remember how they felt unappreciated on their reality show years back. It is what it is. I just want both of these two legendary 90’s groups to chill out. For the culture. Please.
I will always prefer Xscape over any other female group. They are what I grew up on. Literally my mom bought ALL their albums and played them all in their entirety. I always kept up w them ever since I was a kid. I’m sad to hear they aren’t getting along but I’m going to always be here for them..SWV is ok but Coko is the singer of that group. Taj and LeLee CAN NOT sing that’s just that on that. I do jam their “Can We” joint almost every other day. coko ate that…I always wondered why Taj and LeLee never been a featured artist on another artist project…Coko have plenty of times 💁 COKO IS SWV..
