Chris Brown Declares: “No More 20 to 40 Song Albums”

Published: Friday 19th May 2023 by Sam

Chris Brown is closing the door on albums comprised of surplus songs.

Full story below…

Taking to Instagram moments ago, C. Breezy announced:

“Y’all ready for some new music? Been locked in the studio. Ultra instinct activated! I’ll let y’all know the album title soon. NO MORE 20 to 40 song albums. 🥴. JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF MAGIC TO DIGEST “

The move represents quite the pivot from Brown’s last few album cycles, which – between lengthy original editions and jam-packed deluxe offerings – have left observers stunned at the sheer number of songs featured.

For instance, 2017’s ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ cycle concluded with 57 tracks, while 2022’s ‘Breezy’ clocked in at 33 cuts.

************

Finally. Finally. Finally.

There’s no denying Chris’ abilities. However, there’s an artistic premium attached to cultivating a concise, focused, and inspired body of work.

From Michael Jackson and Usher before him to Bruno Mars’ more recently – many have shown that quality can be contained. So, it’s great to see Chris get the memo at long last.

Because, for a while, it very much gave “I’m including every song I recorded for this album.”

In any case, we’re eager to hear what he has up his sleeve for we now know will be a slimmer, trimmer, and less bloated effort.

It appears we won’t have to wait for long for the first taste either. For, seconds ago on Instagram Stories, the 34-year-old wrote:

“If y’all thought I wasn’t gonna drop a single for the summer…think again :-)”

Your thoughts?

All his songs sound the same.. time for a different sound cuz his “fans” ain’t buy the other albums. Time to reach new audiences without neglecting his core fan base

Lol, one thing Chris Brown is NOT gonna do is switch up his (music) style or release an explicitly creative body of work. I’d probably be more than just a casual listener if he did. He is in my top 10 fav artist
