Coi Leray Calls for Female Rappers to “Unite” for ‘Ladies Night’ Remake To Get 2023’s First Hip-Hop Hot 100 #1 Hit

It looks like GloRilla isn’t the only female rapper with “girl power” on her mind.

Just days after expressing her desire to remix the Cardi B and Latto-led ‘Put It on Da Floor Again,’ the GRAMMY nominee brought her unmistakable flow to the all-female sequel of the viral Tik Tok hit Keep Dat N***a alongside iCandy, Kali, and Big Boss Vette.

Now, it appears her fellow femcee – Coi Leray – is hoping to follow suit by recruiting even bigger names in the female Rap game for a modern-day take on the 1997 Lil Kim smash ‘Not Tonight-Ladies Night Remix’ (which famously featured Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Angie Martinez, Missy Elliott, and Da Brat).

As noted during a recent episode of ‘The Breakfast Club,’ not one Hip-Hop song or album has hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 or Billboard 200 this year – reportedly the first time such has occurred in 30 years.

Leray, who is readying her self-titled sophomore album for a June 23 release, suggested the solution could come in the form of an all-female Rap collaboration.

“Ain’t been a #1 Rap song at all this year,” she said in a tweet on Tuesday night (June 13). “Calling all the female rappers to [the] front. Hear me out; ‘Ladies Night.’ Hip-Hop. Unity. #Splash. Let’s make history with a number 1…together…with love. #justanidea.”

Although Leray didn’t name any specific prospective collaborators, fans immediately chimed in with suggestions that ranged from Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion to Cardi B, Latto, Ice Spice, Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj, and others.

Coi’s call echoes years of pleas from Hip-Hop heads to see the Kim classic remade with a new lineup.  As of time reported, however, none of the genre’s leading ladies have responded to the ‘Players‘ hitmaker’s request.

I think if Latto or Cardi or even Glorilla led this it would have a better chance of being a hit I don’t see Coi garnering the heavy hitters. I could be wrong though.

The MALE rappers are starting to make better music, so now y’all wanna get along, lol

Outside of Nicki and Doja, who else can really rap though? Even with Cardi non rapping self, it wld still be a laughable flop. All these girls have ruined ruined music.

If you don’t like how she raps that’s fine but you know she’s far from a flop. If this needed to be hit she would be the first to call and that’s a fact. She getting more traction than Nicki Doja and the rest of them girls combined. But you know that
