Chart Check: Lil Uzi Vert Becomes 9th Rapper To Score 100 Hot 100 Hits Thanks to 2023’s First Billboard 200 #1 Hip-Hop Album ‘Pink Tape’

Published: Tuesday 11th Jul 2023 by Rashad

As has become standard fare for Lil Uzi Vert‘s albums, ‘Pink Tape’ – the rapper’s June 30-released third studio effort that features the smash hit ‘Just Wanna Rock’ – rocked Billboard charts this week with the year’s biggest first-week sales yet for a Rap project.

Details inside.

Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Pink Tape’

First-Week Sales (SPS): 167,000

First-Week Sales (Pure): 11,000

Billboard 200 Debut: #1

After hitting the top of the Billboard 200 with ‘Eternal Atake‘ in 2020 and ‘Luv Is Rage 2‘ in 2017, Uzi (born Symere Woods) kept their #1s streak in tact with the booming first-week sales performance of ‘Pink Tape.’

The set’s arrival at the chart’s summit brings to end a drought for Hip-Hop chart-toppers as ‘Pink’ is the first Rap LP to be painted at tally’s top spot in 2023. Among all genres, it boasts the year’s third-biggest debut sales week following the 501,000 and 249,500 units sold that accompanied Country superstar Morgan Wallen‘s ‘One Thing at a Time’ and Stray Kids’ ‘5-Star’ respectively.
