Taylor Swift Becomes the First Woman To Chart Over 200 Hot 100 Hits

Published: Tuesday 18th Jul 2023 by Rashad

Another day, another record for Taylor Swift.

No stranger to rewriting history books with the gargantuan sales and streaming figures attached to her projects, she may have even outdone herself with the recent unveiling of her latest album re-release, ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).’

Delivered to #Swifties on July 7, the set shifted a whopping 716,000 units in the 7 days that followed – giving it the highest first-week sales of any project released this year.

And if that Billboard 200 domination wasn’t enough to celebrate, the tunes that comprise the set are peppered all over the Billboard Hot 100 – pushing her into previously uncharted territory on that tally.

As previously reported, the project’s lead single – ‘I Can See Now (Taylor’s Version)‘ – debuted at #5 on this week’s Hot 100, marking a milestone 26th appearance in the chart region for Swift. Surpassing Janet Jackson‘s all-time record in the process, Tay is now bested only by Queen of Pop Madonna (28) and Mariah Carey (27) for most cumulative top 5 hits in the hitlist’s 64-year history (among women).

When it comes to the tally in its entirety, however, Swift has been Queen since 2020 when she snatched the title of ‘woman with most Hot 100 appearances‘ from Nicki Minaj. Since then, Tay’s amassed a multitude of additional placements; so many that this week – after charting the whole ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ album – she became the first woman to boast over 200 entries on the Hot 100. Look below to see her latest round of prints.

  • #5. I Can See You

  • #53. Long Live

In total, she has 212 titles that have been listed on the Hot 100 over her career – the second-most of any artist ever following Drake‘s 296.
