Billboard 200: Rod Wave Ties Taylor Swift Record With Debut of ‘Nostalgia’

Rod Wave has been ruling the charts, and it has now allowed him to tie a Taylor Swift record.

Taking to press, Billboard announced that Wave’s new album ‘Nostalgia’ has gone to #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album sold 137,000 equivalent album units during its debut week.

As a result of it going #1, he has tied a record held by Taylor Swift. Wave’s previous projects, ‘Beautiful Mind’ (2022), and ‘SoulFly’ (2021),  topped the Billboard 200 chart and now with ‘Nostalgia’ in 2023, he joins Swift as the only artist to top the chart in each of the last three years.

Overall, ‘Nostalgia’ becomes Wave’s sixth top 10 effort.

    He has a strong fan base, and I think it’s because all of his songs sound the same. He’s consistent in that sense.

    He’s like the 2023 hip hop version of Keith Sweat. Always crying and whining. I don’t get it but congrats to his accomplishment without pop chart success and streaming.
