Justin Timberlake DEACTIVATES Instagram Comments as Backlash Over Britney Spears Memoir Casts Doubt on Comeback

Justin Timberlake‘s comeback plans have a tough hill to climb in the wake of the drama the star has been drenched in following the release of his ex Britney Spears‘ memoir, ‘The Woman in Me.’

And it appears the singer is all too aware of the firestorm engulfing his name.

Full story below…

As reported, Spears didn’t hold back when unpacking the length and breadth of her rollercoaster relationship with Timberlake.

Indeed, she waxed candid about having an abortion while with him and claimed that he didn’t want to be a father. She further alleged that while she did step out on JT once, he cheated on her multiple times beforehand – only to go on and spin the narrative for career gain with releases such as ‘Cry Me a River.’

As a result, Timberlake has been a trending topic all week – with both the headlines and social media response being less than thunderously negative.

In an attempt to fend off the flames, the 42-year-old has dramatically deactivated all comments on his Instagram.

The timing of the melee couldn’t be any worse for the performer either.

First, there’s the upcoming US release of his movie ‘Trolls Band Together’ on November 17.

Typically, the push for such a big flick would be accompanied by a major media run of interviews. However, the ongoing actor strike will likely see Timberlake spared awkward questions.

The impact on his music plans, though, seems to be unavoidable. For, sources claim the crooner has booked arenas for 2024 to mount a tour in support of a comeback album.

With the stakes for the LP being at an all-time high given how panned his last album, 2018’s ‘Man of the Woods,’ was, being embroiled in a fresh mess creates an issue around public perception.

Put simply, the current climate just doesn’t feel very “Justin Timberlake” friendly. And hasn’t in a while…for a multitude of reasons. Including but not limited to the public’s awakening of his role in the disproportionate treatment Janet Jackson faced following their 2004 Super Bowl performance. A role he publicly apologized for in 2021 – 17 years later.

Can the star weather the storm? Time will tell.

In the here and now, we’re keen to know…
