Andre 3000 is set to turn the volume up on his eclectic sound with the release of his long-awaited debut solo album.

Full story below…

17 years after OutKast explored individual ventures, the Hip-Hop force will unlock the LP ‘New Blue Sun.’

And, following such a lengthy wait, fans won’t have to brace for too long because the set is due to be released this Friday (November 17).

There is a unique twist, though.

The project, which is co-produced by Carlos Niño, is entirely instrumental and centers on the MC playing the flute.

Speaking on the album, Andre 3000 said:

“I’ve been interested in winds for a long time, so it was just a natural progression for me to go into flutes,” André says. “I just like messing with instruments and I gravitated mostly toward wind.”

Peep the tracks that make up the project:

I think Andre 3000 is one of those artists who wants to be adequately compensated for his music. He was one that went into obscurity (artist strike) as the digital age began to proliferate. It would appear he’s taking a hard stance when it comes to him profiting off of his talent. If he can’t adequately profit, then we won’t get any new music. If this is true, I support him 100%.
