Ciara’s ‘How We Roll’ Rocks R&B Charts / Becomes Diva’s Highest-Charting Hit in Nearly 10 Years

Published: Saturday 25th Nov 2023 by Rashad

‘How We Roll,’ the long-awaited duet of Ciara and Chris Brown, is quietly rolling toward being one of her biggest Billboard hits in a decade.

Peruse of Billboard’s current R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart shows ‘Roll’ has advanced to a new peak of #14 in its 13th week of charting.

For context, this tally ranks the most-played R&B and Hip-Hop songs played on Urban and Urban Adult radio stations in the United States.

The last time Ci enjoyed a peak as high on this hitlist was when her ‘Jackie‘ hit ‘I Bet‘ peaked at #8 in 2015. Further, the 13-week stay marks the longest-charting run she’s seen on this tally since her slow jam ‘Sorry’ soared to a 16-week tenancy in 2012.

Faring even better on the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, ‘Roll’ – bolstered by a Lil Wayne-assisted remix – has so far peaked at #9.

There, it becomes her 15th top 10 hit and the highest rung she’s reached since ‘I Bet’ blasted to #7. Further, the 14-week stay on this tally marks the longest-charting hit she’s had since ‘Sorry’ racked up 15 weeks in 2012.

Ciara’s longevity and ability to know and execute in her lane is iconic. Give my sister her 10’s!!! That’s without the machine as well, this is her FULLY on her own label.

Queen of pop & r&b! No other black female singer since Janet and Whitney have been able to maintain mainstream longevity and has had level of cross over success. It also clearly goes without saying Ciara is the best living performer arguably ahead of Mj and Janet. Go Cici!

What was that someone was saying only a week ago about how unsuccessful this song is for Chris and Ciara? I guess they spoke too soon.

Lol dude STFU the song been out almost over 3 damn months and stil lhaven’t reached the top 5 on ANY R&B charts.

My initial point remains valid. They fans hyped-up this song like it was prime Michael Jackson and Janet Jackson Scream, while again swearing that Chris is this generation Michael Jackson. Scream went top 5 on the Hot 100 but after almost over 3 damn months this song haven’t even cracked the Hot 100 lol.

and heeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre we go. CB’s biggest female tr4ns hater, Tino. Dude its barely 11 am CST and you on here commenting again under a CB post. Did you at least suck yor morning d*** this morning before you came and guzzled chris’ bawls? What dummie (other than you) would dare compare CB to MJ statistically? And so what if fans were excited for it? It’s a phenomenal song. And even through your biased, schlong riding, this song is still relevant, you kewn. You ride on taylor swift’s cotails but always bringing down your brothers and sisters.
