L.A. Reid Accused of Sexual Assault in Lawsuit from Former Arista Exec Drew Dixon

Years after making headlines for accusing music mogul and executive Russell Simmons of sexually assaulting her in the mid-90’s, former Arista Records executive Drew Dixon is taking aim at L.A. Reid with similar claims.

Details inside.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday (November 8) in Manhattan’s Federal District Court, Dixon alleges Reid not only sexually harassed and assaulted her on multiple occassions in the early 2000s but also retaliated against her professionally on the times she declined his advances.

Claiming she was being “punished” because she did not comply, Drew took to ‘The Times’ to recount times her “promotional and recording budgets were suddenly reduced dramatically or frozen altogether; song demos and artist auditions were flatly rejected.”

The reported mistreatment was the catalyst behind her decision to leave Arista Records in 2002.

Reports have it Dixon’s complaint falls under the Adult Survivors Act, a New York law enacted last year that “opened a one-year window for civil lawsuits from anyone who was over 18 when they say that abuse occurred.”

That window closes November 24. As of time reported, Reid has not responded to Drew’s claims.

This isn’t the first time L.A. has battled accusations of sexual misconduct.

In 2017, the music executive-producer – who has been involved with hits delivered by the likes of Whitney Houston, Toni Braxton, Usher, Mariah Carey, and many other big names – stepped down as chairman of Epic Records after an assistant alleged he assaulted her.
