Taylor Swift has moved up the overall sales chart thanks to the release of her ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ album.

Taking to press, ChartMasters shared that Swift has now surpassed Mariah Carey to become the third best-selling female artist of all-time.
As of reporting, Swift has sold 178,162,000 equivalent albums, while Mariah sits at 177,573,000 equivalent albums. The only female artist to remain above Swift are Madonna and Celine Dion with 248,410,000 equivalent albums and 199,418,000 albums.
Swift is the 16th best-selling artist of all time according to the site. The news comes after Republic Records reported that ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ sold 3.5 million copies worldwide in its first week.
White folks have the money and resources to support their faves. So white artists will always dominate these sales charts and lists. The exception is Michael Jackson. And you see what he had to do—to his face and his mind—to get what he got.
Thriller is the bestselling album of all time and mj was a dark skinned man. In fact his sales decreased the lighter he got, so no he didn’t get anything out of doing anything to his face except ridicule and bullying.
But that nose was white.
And Mariah had Tommy Motolla as her sales decreased after they divorced. Let’s not pretend she didn’t benefit from her mostly European features 🙄
She definitely did. Even her hip hop features were benefitted because she was seen as an innocent white girl in hip hop.

Chart masters is no reliable. This is not true. Album wise she has not sold more albums than Mariah.
Taylor has not sold that many albums ww. This is inaccurate.
Maybe singles but not albums. Can someone name some classic Taylor songs cause I can’t think of any. Also where is all this fanfare coming from? I try to be nice and keep my comments to myself about her but I just don’t get it … And I’m a music lover.

Mariah stopped making music over 10 years ago. Of course Tayelor passed her. She makes albums almost every year. It’s ok, though.

Maybe now she’ll remove the target she has put on Céline since 1998 and put it on Joe Jonas’s, Lucas Till’s, Taylor Lautner’s, John Mayer’s, Jake Gyllenhaal’s, Conor Kennedy’s, Harry Styles’s, Calvin Harris’s, Tom Hiddelston’s, and Joe Alwyn’s ex. 😊
