In just one week Spotify has had its record books rocked by the likes of Taylor Swift as well as Jung Kook and Latto.
Not even 6 months after Miley Cyrus planted her huge comeback single, ‘Flowers,’ into Spotify history books when the tune became the fastest to collect 1 billion streams, Jung Kook‘s Hot 100 chart-topper, ‘Seven,’ bested the record.
Assisted by GRAMMY-nominated rapper Latto, the streamer – which previously reported the song’s 16 million first-day streams are the biggest for any collaboration ever – confirmed this week the unlikely duo hit the billion mark in just 108 days.
They aren’t the only ones celebrating huge wins at Spotify, however.
Taylor Swift, who is on track to make history with 2023’s biggest first-week sales courtesy of ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version),‘ broke her own record for the biggest streaming day for any artist in Spotify history.
Taking to Twitter on Saturday (October 28), the streamer revealed not only did the re-recorded album break the platform’s single-day record but the Pop diva’s entire catalog received so much attention on October 27 she set a new single-day streaming record overall.

Thanks to streaming figures just north of 400 million (across all major platforms including Spotify), ‘1989 (TV)’ is projected to debut at #1 on next week’s Billboard 200 with total sales of 1.5 million.
It will be her sixth body of work to debut to the tune of at least 1 million units sold first-week.
