What Do You Think? Joe Budden Suggests Sabotage, But Charleston White Says the City Girls Are “Over” & Have Been Replaced by Sexyy Red & Chrisean Rock

Thanks to their respective high-profile relationships, business ventures, and social media followership, it’s arguable the City Girls are at their apex on the celebrity meter.

For those reasons and others, heads were scratched when Yung Miami and JT‘s long-awaited tertiary studio album – the October 20-released ‘Real A** Wh*res (RAW)‘ – debuted real low on the Billboard 200 thanks to reported sales of only 10,000 copies its first week.

In fact, the project – their first since 2020’s ‘City on Lock‘ – arrived at #117 and marks their lowest debut on the hitlist to date.

While some (like DJ Akademiks) have made headlines for their controversial opinion about the cause of the LP’s nonperformance, others – like rapper/reality star/podcast host Joe Budden – suggests sabotage is happening behind the scenes.

Where do you stand on the argument?

Before the City Girls took to ‘The Breakfast Club‘ to assert their disappointing sales were due to “bad management” and “timing,” Budden took to his eponymous podcast to question the legitimacy of the reported figures.

“I need to have that number confirmed,” he said. “It still sounds unbelievable to me. I’m with [co-host Ice] as far as how they counted that. Maybe it’s the pure album sales. Somebody was trying to hurt them during their release.”

A week later, Joe and crew revisited the conversation and could not come to a concensus on if the duo were “over” and needed to “breakup” as a result of the LP’s nonperformance.

Someone who was a lot less indecisive on the matter, however, was Charleston White.

Taking to the ‘Reallyfe Street Starz’ Web show, White not only ruffled the feathers of Saucy Santana for weighing in on the ‘Booty’ hitmaker’s beef with Akademiks but also upset City Girls fans (affectionately called #Citizens) when he gave his thoughts on the sales of ‘RAW.’

“Y’all only sold 10,000 units this week; I think it’s over with for y’all,” he started before naming female rappers he believes have surpassed them in popularity. “They got Sexyy Red now…they got Chrisean Rock with a r-tarded baby she making videos with; they got Glorilla.”

Doubling down on his belief the ‘Act Up‘ stars “time was up,” White concluded his criticism by saying the Girls are getting “peed on.”

As the debate rages on social media about the viability of the duo’s future, tell us…

They’re all quick flashes in the pan. A bunch of 1 or 2 semi-hit wonders with no staying power. Just gimmicky disposable music for a quick buck.

Why so much discussion about City Girls album flopping when they’ve NEVER been big sellers. Their brand is bigger than their music atp and the album was giving let’s rush this s*** and fulfill our contract.

No heads were scratching lol like the user above said just cause your brand is growing doesn’t mean your music will pop off automatically, they’re known as subcelebs. The fact Joe Budden thought they were about to do something when people don’t know their songs tells you how much he knows about the industry
