Heading into 2023, Queen Bey was riding the wave of success with her blockbuster album ‘Renaissance.’
More than a LP, the monumental set was widely hailed as a cultural milestone and a definitive career high for the megastar.
Naturally, then, the singer was considered a shoo-in for the GRAMMYs Album of the Year honor that has eluded her for the length and breadth of her journey.
She had previously nominated for ‘I Am…Sasha Fierce’ and 2013’s ‘Beyonce.’
However, on the night, she was once again bested. This time by Harry Styles’ ‘Harry’s House.’
Suffice it to say, the BeyHive did not hold back and light was once again shone on the worryingly small number of Black woman (and Black artists more broadly) to have ever won the award.

Chile, nobody can even remember any lyrics from Beyonce’s album. You can’t sing it. It’s throwaway. It might sound in the moment, but by the time it’s over you have forgotten it. She does not deserve album of the year.
