Ran through it in 5 minutes. Caught my attention at Virgo grooves, reeled me in a lil more at Heated. Then kind of fizzled out. Love her, though.

I’m shocked that she feels good about this album. The music is very lackluster, and I feel like the lyrics are wasteful and sometimes too immature for her. It doesn’t sound organic or that she’s even enjoying herself – just a bunch of nonsensical talk-singing. What a shame.

its not bad, its decent at best. Decent because its entertaining and fun, but not more.
this is barely music, and at this stage she is a marketing executive who can sing a note. she knows when to throw a word like c*** or karen at the perfect moment to keep you from hitting the next button. she’s suceeding at keeping you hooked. that’s what this album achieves, just keeping you hypnotised by those bouncy beats and imagining what dirty/ratchet lyric she will throw next, barely creating any real musical moments. it fails terribly at being a REAL experimental album, because even though she’s experimenting I’m not convinced she’s entirely anti-establishment and fully committed to the underground sonic space. it still sounds very mainstream, and she could at least have tried to make it believable. the hype continues, the fake praises continue, her career will exist for another 5 years but she’s not reaching new heights anymore. 6.5/10
The album is pure 🗑🗑🗑🗑 it’s repetitive, the beats sound the same, too much profanity. It is all over the place. The album sounds like a midlife crisis and a coded call for help. As usual, it is an empty, self praising, unintelligent, uninspired body of work. Naturally, her loyals will say “how genius and iconic” it is. But they have said this about literally every single forgettable album she has put out since the first. Which was her only reasonably good album. It is safe to say at this point, not to expect quality or anything of substance from her. And even at that, not to anticipate anything innovative. Just stolen samples of the ones who can do it better. This is her legacy, this is her brand.

Just finished listening to renaissance. It definitely far exceeded my expectations. Its easily a 80 out of 100 at the lowest. IMO its Silk Sonic meets Survivor meets Lion King the Gift meets Dreamgirls meets the lyrics of Self Titled with a hint of Chromatica and MJs first Album. This album will definitely attract new fans. Beys team is Brilliant. This Album already appeals to a HUGE Audience and this is just Act 1. Best part is every album tracks is easily better than BMS and flooded with singles that would rip holes through the entire B’day album.
