Britney Spears‘ father Jamie Spears has been a firm fixture in the headlines in the years since the superstar went public with her fury over her father’s role in presiding over the legal mandate that governed her personal and professional life for 13 years.

According to TMZ, Jamie had his leg amputated last month.
Per the report, the Spears patriarch had a huge infection in one of his legs that resulted in a multi-week hospital stint.
Five unsuccessful surgeries to contain the infection followed and the only option doctors were left with was an amputation.
While Britney has been very verbatim about her family (famously saying she “prays they burn in hell” for their alleged role in her woes), she appears to be softening her take.
For, she spent her 42nd birthday with her mom Lynn and brother Bryan in Los Angeles.
