Dionne Warwick was fittingly saluted as one of the celebrants at the 46th Annual Kennedy Center Honors and received a stunning tribute performance from Cynthia Erivo.
The annual ceremony pays homage to key figures who have dedicated their lives to excellence in the Performing Arts sphere.
In celebrating Warwick’s contributions, Erivo – a highly decorated multihyphenate herself – blew the roof off the building with a blazing rendition of ‘Alfie.’
Penned by the diva’s longtime collaborators Burt Bacharach and Hal David, the anthem was a seismic smash for Warwick in 1967.
Watch Erivo take vocal flight with a melismatic showing of the ‘Aflie’ – which earned a standing ovation from Warwick and President Joe Biden – after the jump…
Incredible!
My girl, Cynthia kills!
no thanks… that nose ring reminds me of some wild life OX.
Ashanti would sound good doing Dionne oh well
