Tragedy has sadly struck the family of Nick Carter once again.

For,  his sister BJ Carter has died – just over a year after the death of the star’s brother Aaron.

According to TMZ, Bobbie Jean – the younger sibling of the Backstreet Boys member – died this morning (December 23).

The mother of one was just 41 years old.

A statement from Jane Carter – the collective’s mom, said:

“I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time.  When I am able to think clearly, I’ll release a fuller statement; but until then I would request to be left to grieve in private.

However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater. So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”

No cause of death has been shared as of writing.

However, the gravity of the tragedy is further palpable when factoring in the death of Aaron Carter (who was just 34) and their sister Leslie Carter – who died in 2012. Both of those deaths were drug-related.

Bobbie Jean largely avoided the spotlight, yet she did appear alongside her famous brothers and their broader family in the reality series, ‘House of Carters.’
