Sensational news for R&B bad boy Chris Brown.
Before 2024 there were only five acts in the history of Billboard who can boast having charted for at least 20 distinct and consecutive calendar years on the Hot 100. This month – thanks to his latest hits ‘Sensational‘ and ‘IDGAF‘ – Brown became the sixth.
Joining the ranks of Elton John, Rod Stewart, Stevie Wonder, Madonna, and Elvis Presley, Chris – unlike his predecessors – is uniquely the first among artists to debut this century who has inclusion in the exclusive club.
Making his first appearance in August 2005 with his breakout smash ‘Run It,’ the 34-year-old has since run 117 hits onto the Hot 100 with the most recent coming in the form of the October-released ‘Sensational‘ (found aboard his latest album ‘11:11‘).
Printed on the updated edition of the all-genre chart at #98, the entry also extends his reign as the most-decorated male singer in the 65-year history of the Hot 100.

It’s worth noting that Beyonce also boasts a 20+-year span of consecutive charting (1997-2020), however five of those years’ worth of appearances were as part of Destiny’s Child.
They always find a way to hand him a random record to break. I couldn’t name a quarter of those 117 “hits” . That’s Chris’ issue, he churns out music like a factory and most of it’s forgettable.
Stop damage controlling. Why would billboard “find a way” to spin a positive narrative about someone who still gets sh*tted on for a domestic abuse case from 14 years ago? If what you are saying were true about his music being forgettable, those gold and platinum plaques he got in 2022 for “old” songs would not have happened. And no guidance would not be nearing diamond status. Stop hating bro/sis
