Lil Nas X APOLOGIZES for Offending Christians with ‘J Christ’ Roll Out, Says Drama is “Taking a Mental Toll on Me”

Published: Monday 15th Jan 2024 by Sam
Lil Nas X is renowned for his wicked sense of humor. However, the star has taken to social media to get serious about the backlash that has engulfed him following the release of his latest single ‘J Christ.’

As reported, the 24-year-old declares on the track that he’s “back like J Christ” (referring to Jesus Christ) and, in the song’s accompanying visual, he dresses as Jesus, Moses, and Noah.

And while it appeared like the performer was keen to lean all the way into the controversy, he has expressed both a pivot and an apology…of sorts.

Full story below…

Taking to social media, Nas said:

“I’m not the first person to dress up as Jesus. I’m not the first rapper. I’m not the first artist. And I won’t be the last. But I know that because of the ‘Call Me By Your Name’ video, anything I do with religion can be seen as mockery – which was just not the case with this.”

Continuing, the star referenced a promotional video in which he spoofed communion and said “I do apologize for that.”

He went on to add:

“This is not to get everybody on my good side. This is more so to clear my own head about my own decisions. I know I messed up really bad this time. And I can act all unbothered if I want, but it’s definiely taken a mental toll on me.”

lol he’s only “sorry” because the song is a pitiful flop. It debuted at #53 on Spotify, and #80 on Global Spotify charts.

  3. No thanks! January 15, 2024

Only sorry because it’s not a hit! He intentionally did this video to create drama but it didn’t work this time. You can’t work for an industry that calls you to mock your very reason of existence and think life will be filled with joy. That’s why we shouldn’t be mad and let him continue digging his grave. Where’s the real talent these days?

  4. Addy Bunn January 15, 2024

He wouldn’t have any remorse if the song was a hit. Lil Nas is a full time troll, part time artist. Gimmicks cannot carry a career without talent to back it up. I’m not sorry.

Whining as if The Vatican banned him like they did Madonna for burning crosses and kissing a black Jesus in the Like A Prayer video. Or when the late Sinead O’connor insulted and made playdophile allegations against the pope on SNL. Nobody is THAT outraged as you’re not all THAT. Under your gimmicks and bonnet, you’re a Barb. Enough said.

So no one told him that the sacrilegious act is corny and played out? He must be surrounded by yes men bc there was no way this single was gonna be successful…. NO WAY…. 😩

Awww poor little tink tink flopped and now he’s spiraling. The gimmicks weren’t enough to carry a mid song period. Enjoy the fiery pit!!
