Published: Friday 16th Feb 2024 by Rashad

Nearly a decade separates diehard fans of Jennifer Lopez (affectionately known as #JLovers) from the diva’s last English-language studio album ‘A.K.A.’ (2014), but the wait for the LP came to a close on Friday (February 16) with the arrival of ‘This Is Me…Now.’

The conceptual follow-up to 2002’s ‘This Is Me…Then,’ ‘Now’ is written and executive produced by Lopez and Rogét Chayed, Jeff “Gitty” Gitelman, and HitBoy.

Kicked off by the dancefloor ready jam ‘Can’t Get Enough‘ and its supercharged remix featuring fellow GRAMMY nominee Latto, ‘Now’ – accompanied by a Prime Video movie of the same name – boasts a total of 13 tracks including its previously released title track which got a live debut aboard ‘SNL.’

The album is a lot better than I expected! This is the old jlo that we loved before she changed her music! This is that feel good music! Whoever she worked with she needs to keep people like that around! This definitely takes off from this is me then album!

Stans, we know you’re excited but let’s not get carried away. This album is mediocre at best. Screaming otherwise on every black blog Jenny’s team can think of does not change this fact.

I don’t hate it, but I do think I liked JLo better when Ashanti was the one singing her songs for her.

      Same here

Where is Ashanti’s ashy ass now? Struggling to sell concert tickets? All this Ashanti love but none of you supporting her struggling ass. lol Ashanti sang background vocals on two songs and got paid for her services just like all the background singers did lol. Please stop the Ashanti comments is old and tired.

  9. No thanks! February 16, 2024

Vocally she hasn’t changed, the album sucks. However I’m sure the visuals will make up for it. She had 1 or 2 alternatives for a lead single but that’s it.

I have to admit, I caught some of it on Amazon Prime…and I didn’t hate it lol.

I think Jennifer did good with this album, though I was hoping for more of that funk/jazz sound from “Can’t Get Enough”. Does “Hearts and Flowers” not have that Krucial Keys sound Alicia has been missing? She needs to contact that producer asap.

I looooove this album!!!! Like I can’t stop listening to it!!!! I just wish “This Time Around” should’ve been the lead single to roll this album out!!!! It’s perfect!!! Upbeat, fun, could dance her ass off to it, dope chorus, and lyrically it would’ve been a perfect intro to life now as a married wife spinning the block with the love of her life Ben Affleck! But other than the lead single choice I’m soooo here for this!!! I gotta go to the tour no doubt!!!!
