SZA Reacts To Winning Her First GRAMMY As a Lead Act: “Thank You for Rooting for Me”

Published: Sunday 4th Feb 2024 by Rashad

Before the GRAMMY’s main show even hit airwaves, SZA – the night’s most-nominated act – boasted a major win thanks to her ‘SOS‘ fan favorite ‘Ghost in the Machine.’

SZA (born Solana Rowe) – with help from Phoebe Bridgers – bested ‘Thousand Miles’ (Miley Cyrus featuring Brandi Carlile), ‘Candy Necklace’ (Lana Del Rey featuring Jon Batiste), ‘Never Felt So Alone‘ (Labrinth featuring Billie Eilish), and ‘Karma‘ (Taylor Swift featuring Ice Spice) for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award.

The sophomore win of Rowe’s career overall, the victory also marks her second in this category as she took home the trophy in 2022 for the Doja Cat-led ‘Kiss Me More.’

Taking to Twitter on Sunday (February 4), SZA expressed her gratitude to her longtime fans.

“I just wanna say thank you to each and every one of you for rooting for me and praying for me tonight. No matter what happens I’m blessed cause I have y’all and we’ve come so f*cking far,” she shared. “I Love You. God has us.”

Her dedicated supporters weren’t the only ones being thanked, however.

The most boring show ever…. no one even came to eccept the awards, the awards lost their meaning.

The actual live show doesn’t start until 8pm and trust me when I say artists still yearn for the highest musical honor…
