The ESSENCE Festival of Culture is bringing the heat for its milestone 30th Anniversary. For, organizers for the New Orleans extravaganza have just announced Janet Jackson as the latest headliner.

Ms. Jackson joins the previously announced headliners of the July 4-7 event, Birdman & Friends.
The news was trumpeted in a titilating video reveal, which tallied many of the legend’s colossal achievements – including being one of the biggest selling recording artists and touring acts of all-time.

Monica nor Kelly have enough hits to headline. Janet is age appropriate and gives a good show.
Now I’m not sure why she chose to do this when she’s playing NOLA during her tour, BUT this will be a treat for those attending Essence from all over the country. And those of us who will watch the livestream like last time.
It will be interesting to see the entire Festival lineup.

Over 180 albums sold, 7 #1 albums, 10 #1 Hot 100 Hits, 16 #1 R&B Hits, 28 Top 10 Hot 100 Hits and she is the only black Artist with #1 albums spanning 4 decades (On Billboard’s Top 200). Janet Jackson is one of the most influential entertainers of the modern era. Oh and she is in the Rock And Roll Hall Fame. Someone said get Brandy or Monica. Let’s be very clear those girls are no way near Janet’s Iconic status and few are. I need you no music knowledge people to stop being haters and gain some sense of what entails being an Icon, because you obviously have no clue.
