Kanye West has settled another legal dispute, this time with Donna Summer‘s estate.
More details below…
The two parties have now settled over the unauthorized use of the ‘I Feel Love’ sample that appeared on West’s ‘Vultures’ album released earlier this year.
Estate lawyer Stanton L. Stein shard that the settlement should be reached soon.
“Plaintiff anticipates that the final settlement agreement can be executed shortly, and soon thereafter, the parties will be in a position to file a stipulation for dismissal of the action in its entirety,” he said.
“In the unlikely event the parties are unable to conclude the settlement by June 14, 2024, [the] plaintiff intends to diligently prosecute the action against all defendants. As such, [the] plaintiff requests that dismissal not be entered at this time,” he continued.
West previously dealt with another clearance issue when he sampled Black Sabbath‘s ‘Iron Man’ for his song ‘Carnival.’
Kanye and Donna should switch places.
Unfortunately it’s one of the best songs in the album and the best sample she’s ever been used in. Kanye is a masterpiece in and of himself. This seemed more about people who just don’t like him and using what they can to try and chip off his excellence. Either way it’s their estate or whatever. Here’s a dollar sis. Y’all know yall don’t care about Donna tho.
