Introducing a statement with “no shade” doesn’t mean it won’t be perceived as such – a consequence self-proclaimed ‘Queen of Da Souf’ Latto is learning royally thanks to response to her recent interview with Billboard.

Crowned the latest cover girl of Billboard magazine, the ‘Big Energy’ hitmaker chatted it up with the Music Bible about her big plans on everything from her forthcoming album ‘Sugar Honey Iced Tea‘ to touring, the state of female Hip-Hop, and more.

Among the topics of discussion was her rumored rivalry with fellow GRAMMY-nominated rapper Ice Spice, a beef already thought to be reheated by the Hip-Hop divas’ subliminal exchange after last month’s BET Awards.

After weighing in on the epic Rap battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, Latto was asked if she would ever engage in a diss track duel with Spice.

“If I was to do [a battle], it would have to be with somebody I feel like Imma go tit for tat with,” the 25-year-old replied. “I really don’t mean it as shade. Would she even want to do that? I feel like she’s doing her in her lane. It’s two different types of vibes. I don’t even think she gives me like, ‘Oh, she wants to engage in an actual rap beef.'”

The quote comes after the two reportedly took shots at each other with their songs ‘Think U the Sh*t (Fart)‘ and ‘Sunday Service.’

“Everybody gon’ take their lil jabs in the music, and it’s not even that serious to me; I feel like you should do that,” Latto remarked in her chat with Billboard. “Continue to! But as far as actual whole dis records to each other, I don’t think she would even want to do that. I feel like… would it even make sense? It wouldn’t.”

Ouch!

At the time of this report Ice Spice hasn’t responded to Latto’s comments.
