Two years after first waving “hello” to the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Good Morning Gorgeous‘ – the title track to her GRAMMY-nominated 2022 album – Mary J. Blige is undoubtedly looking for a similar commercial welcome to her forthcoming single ‘Breathing.’

Following the warmly received ‘Still Believe in Love‘ and ‘Beautiful Life,’ ‘Breathing’ comes as the latest taste of new music set to line Blige’s yet-titled new album (which she previously teased will be her last). The project will serve as the highly anticipated follow-up to 2022’s ‘Gorgeous.’
Announced via social media over the weekend, Mary confirmed the new tune will feature 4x GRAMMY nominee Fabolous.
“Big Mary – not the little one; Big Brooklyn, big Yo – what’s up we came to kick in the door,” she announced to her 6.8 million followers. “Breathing video and single coming soon.”
The ‘Breathing’ news certainly comes as a breath of fresh air for longtime Mary fans who have been longing for her return to music after her extended focus on acting gigs like STARZ’ ‘Power Book II‘ and the upcoming film ‘Rob Peace’ (which premieres August 16).
At the time of this report MJB has not confirmed the release date of the new song or its accompanying music video.
