In the realm of R&B, Mary J. Blige‘s 30-year career is nearly unrivaled – a status underscored by the Billboard welcome of her latest studio album, ‘Good Morning Gorgeous.’
The 13-track affair, which features guest appearances from Usher, DJ Khaled, Anderson. Paak, and more, was quickly hailed a critical touchdown upon its release on February 11 (just two days before her historic Super Bowl Halftime Show).

The chart arrival of ‘Gorgeous,’ Blige’s first album since 2017’s ‘Strength of a Woman,’ was accompanied by pure sales of 14,000 – a sum that makes up over 54% of its overall first-week sales equivalence of 25,800.
Those figures mark the lowest first-week total attached to a Blige project to date, but were still enough to make it the week’s top-selling female effort. Among all artists, only legendary rocker Eddie Vedder‘s ‘Earthling’ (16,000) and Spoon‘s ‘Lucifer on the Sofa’ (14,000+) moved more pure units.
And though the opus fared better in Mary’s realm of R&B (landing at #4 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums tally), the #14 Billboard 200 entry of ‘Gorgeous’ makes it the Hip Hop Soul Queen’s first studio album of her 30-year career to miss the chart’s top 10 upon its debut,
