The nominations have been unveiled for the Country Music Association Awards 2024 and are sure to send tongues wagging.
Because, while the CMA nods brought big looks for the likes of Morgan Wallen and Post Malone, Beyonce was snubbed in a major way.
For, the singer received zero nominations despite being eligible in multiple categories.

Queen Bey bulldozed boundaries this year with her chart-topping Country album ‘Cowboy Carter’ and enjoyed particular success with its blazing lead single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em.’
A history-making release, the track topped both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Country tally – rendering the superstar the first Black woman to achieve the feat.
Both ‘Texas Hold Em’ and ‘Cowboy Carter’ at large sparked much discussion about the notion of racism within Country music – especially amidst Country radio’s initial resistance to playing her music.
Suffice it to say that this seismic snub by the CMAs (which airs live on ABC on November 20) will certainly add to the ongoing discourse.

I’m not a Beyonce fan, but I can also be fair.
This is NOT a country album. The album is also overrated. I think she MAY have deserved a nomination for “Texas Hold ‘Em” for Single of the Year, but otherwise, I’m not shocked she wasn’t nominated.
After 22 weeks the album it self sits at #121 on the Billboard 200.
Rihanna’s “ANTI” is 116 after 435 weeks!
Pitbull’s “Greatest Hits” is #91 after 172 weeks
Even the the Billie album is still top 10 after 15 weeks.
The hype for this Beyonce album is gone like most of her projects.

I don’t think she was snubbed. She can’t keep playing dress up and expect to be nominated in certain genres.
People do it for genres like rap and R&B all the time I.e. Drake and many others. Genres that we did not want to be saturated with outsiders.

Was post Malone also playing dress up? This is his first non rap album, yet they have no problem nominating him! Either way, the CMAs is more irrelevant than even the VMAs. It’s the trailer trash music awards, and I’m glad Beyoncé won’t be associated with that, and give them their biggest rating EVER like the last time she lowered her standards to performed there!

The album didn’t sound country to me, but what do I know about country music. Anyway, these awards are nice and all but they’re not a true measure of the actual impact, success, and artistry of the music. They just reflect behind the scenes deals, limited popularity, and other bs that has discredited their prestige over the years.
