Shaboozey‘s ‘A Bar Song‘ is penciled in Hot 100 history books yet again thanks to a record-setting 18th week at #1.
As if being the longest-reigning Country song in the all-genre chart’s 66-year history isn’t enough to brag about, the tune is also the second longest-ruling hit of all time – a feat it achieved last week when it broke the longstanding record held by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men‘s ‘One Sweet Day.’
This week ‘Bar’ inches one frame closer to tying the tally’s all-time reign record.
Here are the numbers that helped keep Shaboozey at #1 for an 18th week.
- Streaming ≈ 19.9 million U.S.-based streams
- Sales ≈ 6,000 digital downloads
- Radio Airplay ≈ 69.2 million audience impressions
Extending its reign as the longest rule for an unaccompanied hit ever, the 18 weeks make ‘Bar’ only one of two songs to have enjoyed as long a tenancy in the top spot.
The all-time champion remains Lil Nas X‘s 2019 smash, ‘Old Town Road’ featuring Billy Ray Cyrus, which held the position for a whopping 19 weeks.
J Kwon better be getting his residuals. 💰

COWBOY CARTERS IMPACT👑
Stop pretending thiefonce invented country music. She ain’t nothing but a copy thief💅🏽
The irony of you calling a black american woman a thief in a genre that black americans created. Are you that ignorant?
She didn’t invented country music, but she did put Shaboozey on the map since he was not well known before Cowboy Carter. He just happened to also have a huge potential hit on his hands that allowed him to make the most of the exposure.
Congrats Normani! 💅🏽
