Shaboozey has magnetized headlines aplenty following the CMA Awards 2024 – despite not winning any honors on the night.
The ‘A Bar Song (Tipsy)’ singer has dominated the Country and wider music landscape with the historic #1 anthem, yet went home empty handed at the event.
In a bizarre move, remarks were made to disparage the 29-year-old…during another artist’s acceptance speech.

Cody Johnson bagged the Artist of the Year award and, during his speech, he welcomed his producer Trent Willmon on stage to join him.
Unprovoked, he hissed:
“I got to tell ya, this is for this cowboy who has been kicking Shaboozey for a lot of years, Cody Johnson.’

CMAs have a race issue. The #CMAAwards are racist. Watch the racism unfold from last night CMAs. Shaboozey deserves better & he released the biggest country song of the year 18 weeks at number one on Billboard hot 100 charts. Clapping back, Shaboozey took to social media and shared a snap of himself seemingly unbothered with the caption: “ain’t nobody kicking me!”
What did he mean though? That’s weird
Open, blatant racism. Some of them are threatened just by the very existence of non-whites making music in the genre. There’s enough room for everyone so the should be more inclusive.
I have to agree.
Country music sucks, so who f&*kin” cares
