Halle Bailey has made no secret of her admiration of Janet Jackson over the years.
From performing ‘Together Again‘ live in tribute to the Pop royal to donning costumes in homage during Halloween, Bailey has toasted Jackson on several occasions in the past – a salute she hopes will eventually reach its grandest scale yet: the big screen.

Taking to ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’ on Wednesday (December 11), Bailey was on site alongside R&B legend Smokey Robinson to promote their gig as hosts of NBC’s ‘A Motown Christmas.’
When not dishing on the highly anticipated, star-studded holiday special, the duo joined Hudson for a stunning rendition of yuletide classic ‘Silent Night.’
That, of course, was after they both addressed rumors of participation in biopics.
While Robinson confirmed he’s putting the finishing touches on the script for his, Halle silenced the rumor that she will portray Janet in the anxiously awaited biopic of the Pop diva’s big brother – King of Pop Michael Jackson.
“I would love to [play Janet] one day. People think I’m in the [‘Michael’ movie], but I’m like ‘no, I’m not.’ But, I would love to [portray her] one day. That would be cool,” Bailey said laughing.
She later agreed when Hudson revealed she’s “manifesting” the role for the ‘Little Mermaid‘ star’s future. At writing, however, Janet has not confirmed plans to bring her life story to the big screen.

The news comes just months after R&B icon Brandy personally picked Bailey to portray her in a future biopic. Click here to read more about that.
No thanks. Janet deserves someone who doesn’t have to shy away from celebrating how big her legacy is
Girl. Can she even dance?
