“A MESSAGE TO AALIYAH’S BELOVED FANS

Today, on Aaliyah’s birthday, we pause to reflect on the unparalleled legacy she left behind and the immeasurable love you, her fans, have continued to show over the years. Your unwavering support, passion, and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and for that, we are eternally grateful.

Over the past year, we have been working tirelessly to honor her memory in a way that we believe is worthy of her brilliance. We’ve partnered with some of the most talented and creative individuals in the music industry to curate and produce a project that will not only showcase Aaliyah’s timeless artistry but also serve as a gift to each of you who have carried her spirit forward.

While we initially planned to release this project in 2024, we made the heartfelt decision to take additional time to ensure that what we create is not just a collection of songs but a deeply meaningful body of work. This project is about more than music-it’s about preserving her essence and continuing to share her light with the world.

We have heard you. We’ve read your messages, your heartfelt comments, and your requests. Your love and anticipation for this release have been a constant source of motivation for us. We share your excitement, and we want you to know that every decision we’ve made has been with you-and Aaliyah-in mind.

As we move forward, we remain committed to creating something truly special. A project that not only celebrates her extraordinary talent but also brings you closer to the incomparable Baby Girl we all hold so dearly in our hearts.

Thank you for your patience, your love, and for continuing to honor Aaliyah in your own unique ways. We promise that what we are creating will reflect her artistry, her magic, and the profound legacy she has left behind.

Happy Birthday, Aaliyah. We love you always.

With love and gratitude, Blackground Records 2.0″
