NLE Choppa dropped jaws when he dropped draws for the latest edition of ‘Playgirl.’
Earning cheers from many for the bottom-baring photoshoot lensed by famed photographer Anna Garbowska, the racy pics that accompanied his spread in the lifestyle mag also earned its fair share of jeers from critics who accused the rapper of pandering to gay men.
No stranger to fielding criticism for his embrace of the LGBTQ+ community over the years, Choppa took to social media recently to not only reaffirm his allyship but slam the notion his appearance in ‘Playgirl’ were attempts at “gay baiting.”

In a video filmed from his bathroom, Choppa (born Bryson Potts) launched into a self-praise session while defending himself from people asserting he’s deceitfully marketing to gay men.
“ I just feel like narratives get painted because I don’t care so much. So, I just wanted to clear the narrative first. Do not say that I’m a gay baiter because I’m comfortable enough to show off the perfection that God has orchestrated over my physical, my mental, my spiritual and even my emotions,” he started in the lengthy rant.
Later in the energetic message, Potts clarified that the decision to bare his bottom for the magazine was the suggestion of the photographer and not his own.
“I am not a gay baiter because I post a selfie in the mirror showing off how beautiful I am,” he relayed. “I am not a gay baiter because in my Playgirl shoot I showed a piece of my a–. I can’t show a piece of my own a– without being called a name? It’s my a–! I am not a gay baiter because I showed my a– to a lady photographer.”
All-in-all, Choppa wanted his fans to know his respect for the gay community would never allow him to engage in deceptive marketing practices.
“I love gay people but I would never want to bait gay people to love me for a certain reason. That’s not what I wanna do,” he shared.
