Wendy Williams has spent her entire career shocking TV viewers and radio listeners with her commentary on the lives of others, but this week she left ‘Breakfast Club‘ listeners jaw-dropped when she weighed in on circumstances around her own life. Wendy Williams’ GoFundMe

Not even two months after her legal guardian took to press to declare the 60-year-old was “totally incapacitated” due to her reported battle with dementia, Williams herself declared she was “not cognitively impaired” and ultimately felt she was being held prisoner by the guardianship – an arrangement that sees a conservator oversee the entirety of her well-being including physical and financial.

On the latter topic, Wendy further surprised ‘Breakfast’ listeners when she revealed the guardians have decimated the fortune she has amassed over the years.

“My life is f–ked up. I feel like I’m in prison. I’m definitely isolated. I keep the door closed, I watch TV, listen to the radio and look out the window. Sit here as my life goes by,” she said. “I have $15 to my name.”

The latter statement was galvanized her family to a start a kickstarter movement to raise $50,000 for her via GoFundMe.

Launched with the assistance of Wendy’s niece Alex Finnie, the fundraiser is hoping to expedite the talk show host’s relocation to Florida from the facility in New York where she is currently resides to be treated for aphasia and frontotemporal dementia.

“For far too long, Wendy has faced the challenges of being unjustly placed under guardianship and labeled as incapacitated, despite her strong will and determination to live her life independently,” the GoFundMe description says. “Her current situation is not only unfair but also deeply isolating. The guardian assigned to her has severed her connections with friends and family, leaving her without the support network she so desperately needs. This isolation in New York has made it increasingly difficult for her to maintain her strength and resilience.”

The fundraiser generated a whopping $18,800 in donations just two days after going live.

Word is her ex spiked her tea, allegedly, which resulted in her slurring speech and that infamous fall (and delayed her wanting to divorce him as far back as 2012). Wendy wanted a return to radio, but TV show honchos, allegedly, had to do what they had to do to keep their cash cow on the air for as long as possible. The woman was not even present at her guardianship hearing!

I don’t understand one part : her guardians are supposed to monitor her expenses, not actually have access freely to her wealth and spend it for their own benefit. How was that even possible ?

Exactly – how she could buy a car for her son’s graduation and its lavish reception if she can’t access her money? All I know: guarduans are paid. Britney’s dad made a fortune handling her money. Looks like she has to ask for a sum and explain why she needs it before her guardian gets paid for acting as the middle mam between courts, banks, and Wendy.
