In a candid conversation on the ‘Download’ podcast, Kanye West dropped a bombshell: he’s been misdiagnosed.

The rapper, previously labeled as bipolar, now asserts that he’s autistic – a revelation he acknowledges his wife Bianca Censori helped him come to. Ye spoke on the conversation the two had about it saying:
“She said, ‘Something about your personality doesn’t feel like it’s bipolar.'”
Reflecting on his past behaviors, West drew parallels to the 1988 film ‘Rain Man’, suggesting his autism manifests in intense focus and defiance. He told the podcast’s host Justin Laboy:
“When people tell you to not dot it… and that’s my problem, when fans tell me to do my album a certain way, I’ll do it the opposite way.”
This isn’t the first time Ye has challenged his mental health labels. Back in 2023 he hinted at an autism diagnosis, attributing it to a car accident. Now with a formal diagnosis in hand, West is re-evaluating his past actions and medications prescribed to him.
