Kanye West is once again stepping into controversy – this time, in defense of Tory Lanez.

Amid reports of Lanez being stabbed 14 times in prison and suffering collapsed lungs, West reached out to fellow Canadian rapper Top5, asking:
“What can I do about Tory?”
Top5, who shared the message exchange via Instagram Stories, urged the ‘Donda’ rapper to amplify a petition for Lanez’s release, stating:
“The petition is at 124k signatures.”
“We need you post [sic] Tory Lanez petition for his release. The man is going through a lot. He’s n his deathbed. He got stabbed 14 times his lungs collapsed. This will tweet [sic] will help a black innocent man see his kids again. I’ve had enough. We need Tory outtt.”
This comes as Lanez’s legal team claims they’ve uncovered new evidence suggesting he didn’t shoot Megan Thee Stallion, attributing the shots to someone else involved. His lawyer, Walter Roberts, stated:
“In essence, Mr. Peterson (Tory Lanez) never shot anybody. Never even touched that gun. He never even fired the gun.”
While none of this has been filed in court yet, West’s public support is loud and clear.
