In news just in, it has been announced that Kelly Clarkson‘s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, has died.

A statement issued by a representative of his family confirmed his passing moments ago.
Brandon Blackstock, the former stepson of Reba McEntire, was just 48.
He is confirmed to have succumbed to cancer.
The statement read:
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”
The news comes a day after Clarkson announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency to spend time with their children, River, 11, and Remington, 9.
She wrote on August 6,
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill, and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
She went on to thank her fans for their “grace, kindness, and understanding.”
The couple was married for almost seven years before splitting in 2020. Their acrimonious divorce made headlines, particularly around the seven-figure settlement payout Clarkson made.
